0xBitcoin

The first pure mined ERC20 Token for Ethereum, using the soliditySHA3 hashing algorithm. This is a smart contract which follows the original Satoshi Nakamoto whitepaper to form a fundamentally sound trustless currency. This combines the scarcity and fair distribution model of Bitcoin with the speed and extensibility of the Ethereum network. Thus, it is named 0xBitcoin or 0xBTC where 0x represents the Ethereum Network and ecosystem.

Get APIcoin, a new Bitcoin API service, to make a Dogecoin API.

We really need more API services because the only one in existence, DogeAPI, is not good. DogeAPI's performance borders on unusable most of the time.
APIcoin, https://apicoin.io, is a new API service for Bitcoin. I just contacted them to ask whether they would support Dogecoin. They said they would if there was enough interest. Can you guys/gals write to them, +tall241, to express your interest?

Chain.com stopping their (FREE) Bitcoin API on Dec 31st

"Dear friends of Chain,
I'm writing to let you know that the free tier of Chain's Bitcoin API service will be sunsetting on December 31, 2015.
As most of you know, over the last year Chain's focus has shifted to enabling financial institutions to issue and manage digital assets on blockchain networks. As we move into 2016, we will be folding our bitcoin capabilities into this enterprise platform. We will no longer support free projects on the bitcoin network.
Our first priority is ensuring your applications continue running uninterrupted. If you would like technical assistance to migrate your bitcoin app to another vendor's free or low-cost bitcoin API service, our CTO is available to support you and ensure your application has a seamless transition. We have helped many projects do this already.
If your project or company is a fit for our enterprise platform and you would like to learn more, please contact
Thank you and please feel free to reach out with any questions. We've enjoyed working with each of you and appreciate your support."

What are the implications of SegWit (if any) when submitting raw transaction to free public APIs?

Currently when my app needs to send Bitcoin to a user, it creates the binary structure including all inputs, outputs, and signatures, converts it to hex, and then HTTP-POSTs the hex to free public Bitcoin API services like BlockExplorer, Insight/BitPay, or BlockCypher. Those services then relay my transaction to the blockchain.
Will the introduction of SegWit which, according to the articles I've read, fundamentally changes the binary structure of a transaction so as to segregate the signatures in some manner, require me to re-code my app so as to make the binary structure of transactions SegWit-compatible?
Seems like the obvious answer would be "yes" but I'm seeing some somewhat contradictory explanations out there (I'm probably looking in the wrong places). So... my question for the experts is:
Given that my current, successful transactions are encoded as described in the following 2014 article:
http://www.righto.com/2014/02/bitcoins-hard-way-using-raw-bitcoin.html
... and given that SegWit "lock-in" is right around the corner, which path shall I take?
(a) Do nothing. No work is necessary. The front-end API will accept my transactions as-is and transparently alter them to honor SegWit protocols prior to submitting them to the blockchain.
or...
(b) Re-code transaction generator immediately to match new SegWit format. Transactions will fail otherwise.
or...
(c) Re-code transaction generator, but no hurry. The prior format will be honored for an extended period.
I can't seem to get a solid grasp on what the implications are for me as a somewhat less technically-minded end user.
